Dorttepe and Bogazici are located in the most peaceful rural area of the Bodrum Peninsular thus suiting those looking to escape to the real Turkish countryside but still being close to busy amenities and facilities of Bodrum Centre which is a mere 30 min driving distance.

The traditional fishing village of Bogazici located at the left end of the Tuzla lake’s opening to the sea.is only a few mins drive from Dorttepe and offers a range of daily amenities and excellent restaurants overlooking the fairy lit lakeside. Local fishermen supply their daily catch directly to the restaurants.

Historically Bogazici used to be known as Bargylia. Bargylos is Bellerphon's (who killed Chimera) companion and was killed by a kick from Pegasus. The city was founded by Bellerophon in honour of his beloved companion. Near Bargylia, there is a Temple of Artemis. It is believed that rain or snow would fall around the temple but never touch it. There are coins of Bargylia dating back to the 2nd century BCE bearing Artemis Cindyas and Pegasus figures heads.

Dorttepe village and the near village of Ucpinar also offer local shops and facilities.

A shopping mall is only 5 mins drive away where brand name stores, supermarket, clothing outlets and cafes are situated.
